This position is responsible for control of dormant accounts, annual Abandoned Property processing for all 50 states and NYS IOLA reporting. This position is also tasked with the responsibility of the daily review for ATM check deposits and the daily review of check processing. Additional duties for the Deposit Operations Specialist includes general ledger reconciliation, processing of check deposits received in back office, updating the core rates and also the daily review and processing of rate exceptions. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Evaluate and disseminate regulatory changes and/or new laws relative to Abandoned Property to the Deposit Operations Department staff and Retail Deposit Services Manager and ensure program compliance through workshops and educational opportunities. Assist with various general ledger reconciliations and research/correct any differences as they arise. Prepare the annual Abandoned Property Reporting to New York State including functions: Run all reports needed for annual escheatment process. Reconcile preliminary and final escheatment. Collect and store all Safe Deposit abandoned property centrally. Responsible for advertisements and auctions concerning abandoned property. Assure accuracy of Internal Revenue Service forms and timing of mailing of Form 1099R, Form 5498, Customer Statements and Federal Withholding Notification. Daily review, maintenance and monitoring of dormant account activity. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the department's efficiency. Safe Deposit functions: Collect and process customer's payments. Dunbar cash services and secure safe postings and reconciliations. Daily review and processing of deposit and line of credit accounts overdrawn. Process Rate Exceptions submitted by the business lines. Review daily ATM Deposits and mark for processing. Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies and procedures. Perform additional accountabilities as required. Minimum Qualifications: 1-2 years banking experience in related areas. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: General knowledge of banking practices and procedures. PC proficiency, particularly word processing and spreadsheet applications (Word, and/or Excel). Good oral and written communication skills. Pay Range: $53,000 - $55,000 Hours: 37.50 This is a non-exempt position, eligible for overtime if the hours worked are over 40 hours.
