Summary You will serve as a SHIPYARD PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENT in the Structural Shop, Production Resources Department of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will promote and administer management programs such as safety and administer practices or policies in labor-management agreements. You will ensure audits and surveillance are aligned with management goals. You will identify priorities and allocate personnel and fiscal resources in accordance with established policies to accomplish the command's mission. You will actively direct a production program to compete against other shipyards and private sector industrial activities for ship and submarine overhaul/repair and modernization work. You will manage the development of long term training to maintain the necessary skill requirements for the shop. You will provide oversight for the shop's programs and operations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience developing goals and program plans, oversight, and coordination of shop work. Experience monitoring and evaluating the performance of and initiating corrective actions as necessary for the technical work practices of personnel. Experience developing an EEO Affirmative Action Plan and coordinating effort with EEO officials during the development and execution of policies affecting civilian personnel. Experience ensuring the availability of equipment and workforce personnel to complete projects on time. Experience with all phases of nuclear and non-nuclear surface or subsurface ship repair and overhaul practices. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Temporary appointments may be extended up to 3 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations.
