Location: Oak Ridge, TN Job Title: S&S Facilties Specialist Career Level: Specialist Organization: Protective Force Oper & Trng (50872278) Job Specialty: Security Operations General What You'll Do The Safeguards and Security Facilities Specialist will be responsible for organizing, planning, managing, and directing the support functions for all assigned Safeguards and Security (S&S) facilities. The S&S Facilities Specialist will ensure operational readiness for all Protective Force (PF) facilities and coordinate the successful and timely completion of work orders for these facilities when issues arise in accordance with Governmental and Company directives. This includes management and administration of duties necessary to maintain the facility safety envelope and operations readiness for assigned operations. The S&S Facilities Specialist will also complete related facility inspection requirements (PrYde, fire extinguishers, freeze/heat protection, Safety, etc.). This position will assist S&S leadership in initial mitigating actions for emergency and non-emergency anomalies, perform initial evaluations and assessments to identify proper corrective actions, and implement the identified actions. * Employee coordinates with the facilities maintenance work center on the prioritization and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance items. * Functions as the primary point of contact between personnel in the assigned facilities and the Maintenance and Utilities organizations. * Grant work start authority within the facility to authorize work on building structures, primary utility services, and systems. * Responsible for implementing Y-12 Infrastructure Facility flow down requirements. * Responsible for notifying the Logistics Manager of any changes in the serviceability and operational readiness of all facilities assigned to the Y-12 Protective Force. * Enters and tracks Purchase Requisitions for S&S Facility related products and services - to include S&S Systems requirements. * Serves as the Subcontract Technical Representative (STR) for S&S Facility related subcontracts. Candidate must be a trained STR. * Make sound business decisions based on needs analysis and budgetary constraints * Serves as the Safeguards & Security Environmental Officer. Supports the Protective Force in storing, segregating, controlling and disposing of hazardous materials. Provides oversight of the chemical inventory and maintains documentation of the chemical inventory and its storage. * Performs duties with opportunity for exercise of initiative, independent judgment and discretion under general supervision, accountable for the results of actions taken and provides solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Typical experience ranging from 7 to 10 years * OR Master's degree: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience * 12 or more years of relevant education and/or relevant experience may be considered Preferred Job Requirements * Government or military contracting experience is desired. * Procurement experience within the DOE and/or the DOD is desired. * Experience in DOE, security industry or military assignments related to operational/logistics planning is desired. * Experience with Project execution/project management * SAP experience is desired. This position may require entry into the Material Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (10 C.F.R. Part 712), which requires successful competition of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation and may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination. This position may be categorized as a "designated position" identified by 10 C.F.R.
