We seek an outstanding and experienced researcher, clinician, and leader at the Associate Professor or Professor rank with broad experience and vision for leading the department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to recruit new faculty to the Department and expand and develop its research programs. About the Employer Established as a distinct department in 1979, the Montefiore Einstein Department of Oncology is currently comprised of 81 faculty members, 55 medical doctors, 21 physician assistants, and 33 nurse practitioners, of which 42 are investigators engaged in basic, clinical, and translational science. The department is closely aligned with the Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center, which is the fourth cancer center in the U.S. to receive NCI designation, in 1972. Einstein offers an extremely interactive environment with numerous, well-equipped core facilities and a clinical and translational research institute. The Department of Oncology comprises a large and complex clinical operation, spanning 60 hospital beds with 3,300 discharges per year at the three main campuses, and operates 90 outpatient infusion chairs in five locations. Montefiore Einstein is the umbrella organization for Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Health System. Einstein is one of the nation's premier research-intensive medical schools, home to more than 2,000 full-time faculty members and nearly 1,000 students in our MD, PhD, and MD/PhD programs and 225 postdoctoral fellows. Einstein has NIH-funded research centers in cancer, aging, AIDS, intellectual and developmental disorders, clinical and translational research, and two in diabetes. Montefiore provides care to approximately three million people in communities across the Bronx, Westchester, and Hudson Valley.
