Are you a mechanical design engineer who wants to make a difference in the world of sustainable electric motor technologies? Do you have the skills and experience to design, develop, and analyse powertrains and transmissions incorporating innovative electric motors that use no rare earth materials and achieve world-class performance and efficiency? If so, you might be the perfect fit for our Advanced Product Development team at Advanced Electric Machines. About Advanced Electric Machines Advanced Electric Machines is a Northeast based company in the UK that produces cutting-edge electric motor and powertrain technologies for customers worldwide. We are proud of our award-winning products that set new standards in sustainability and power density, and we are always looking for new ways to improve and innovate. Ensure compliance with design practices / guidelines and other limiting factors such as electrical creepage and clearance and tooling requirements. Develop and own the product configuration management process and tools to ensure that CAD models are correctly structured, the product BoM is correctly captured and reflected in the MRP system, being adaptable for efficient SKU management. Adapt product configurations for low-volume "special-builds" and work with the operations teams to ensure that relevant work orders and concessions are in place to reflect any deviations. Work on all aspects of the activities of the wider engineering teams as required. We'd love you to have: A self-starting mindset capable of working independently in a cross-functional team, have strong analytical skills, a good knowledge of mechanical design and analysis, experience with industry-standard CAD software packages, and the ability to collaborate with other engineering teams. BEng degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering, or other relevant discipline, or a demonstrable level of industrial experience in a relevant industry. A proven capability to lead project work, and coach more junior engineers. Previous experience in the design of transmissions, rotating machinery or electric motors is highly desirable. In return you'll get: An opportunity to work for a company producing cutting-edge electric motor and powertrain technologies for customers worldwide. The chance to join a growing business where your achievement will be valued, visible and recognised.
