Sr. Grounds Technician

This role maintains various City parks, landscaping projects and athletic facilities by mowing, weed eating, edging, pruning, removing trash, providing janitorial duties, and performing turf maintenance while interacting with the public and staff. Other duties include setting up for special events, keeping records and daily worksheets, performing preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment, cleaning up after weather emergencies, and supporting other departments as needed. * Maintains right of ways, City parks, City lots, and alley ways by collecting trash, mowing, weed eating, edging, blowing, trimming trees and shrubs, training employees on equipment operation, and interacting with management, employees, and the public. * Maintaining athletic fields and facilities by marking fields, cleaning courts, replacing equipment, picking up trash, applying chemicals to fields, managing turf, measuring fields to ensure accuracy, and repairing facilities including bleachers, parking lots, marquee, and irrigation system. * Performs administrative duties by logging work of crew, recording chemical applications, maintaining inventory, and setting up for special events. Education:   * High School Diploma, or GED. Experience:   * Minimum one (1) year of full-time related experience in facility, landscape maintenance and equipment maintenance.  Other Requirements:   * Valid Driver's License * Ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions.  * This position will also be required to work weekends as well as before, during and after emergency situations (including inclement weather). Note: Selected applicant will be required to pass a driving and criminal history check.  Selected candidate must also complete a post-offer drug screen.
