Repair Technician - Pump / Rotating Equipment

Ford-Gelatt, a SunSource Company and leading distributor and repair center of process pumps and components in the fluid process market, is currently seeking a Pump Mechanic for our Baton Rouge, LA repair facility. We're looking for an energetic, self-driven and highly technical individual to join our Repair team. Essential Functions * Assemble, test, trouble-shoot, service and repair a wide variety of pumps, gearboxes and other rotating process equipment, using drawings, schematics, manuals and diagnostic equipment * Inspect parts and various components to determine if they are repairable * Provide complete service report and repair recommendations * Diagnose problems and recommendations for repair * Specify parts and labor required to repair for quotation purposes * Assemble units according to manufacturer specifications and tolerances * Clean, organize and maintain shop and shop equipment * Participate in continuous improvement through training and associate development * Various other responsibilities around facility as needed Experience, Education and Skills * Mechanical pump or rotating equipment experience * Vo-tech or other additional technical training is a plus * 5+ years in industrial environment * Additional welding and/or machining skills is a plus * Good verbal and written communication skills * Ability to read and interpret schematics * Ability to work under pressure and handle daily changes in schedule and priorities * Must be able to stand for majority of workday and lift up to 75 lbs We are an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer M/F/V/D.
