Job Title: Inventory Management Associate Position Summary: The Inventory Management Associate supports various inventory and customer service-related functions. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate inventory control, processing inventory movements, fulfilling customer requests, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The role requires effective communication with customers and internal teams, adherence to company protocols, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities: Inventory Management: * Monitor slow-moving and dead inventory. * Conduct cycle counting and annual physical inventories. * Manage consigned, non-consigned, customer-owned, or third-party inventory. * Process inventory movement requests on and off-site accurately. Customer Service & Reporting: * Provide customer service support and maintain communication with customer contacts. * Enter orders, generate reports, maintain metrics, and track cost savings. * Interface with customer purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers. * Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Purchasing Functions: * Handle back-order reporting, expediting, direct factory shipments, and third-party support. * Resolve open invoices, pricing issues, and manage quotes and document control. Shipping & Hazardous Materials: * Perform shipping coordination activities, including packaging, documentation, and hazardous material handling. * Operate basic warehouse equipment and conduct equipment inspections. * Prepare shipping documentation for hazardous materials as required. System Usage: * Utilize systems such as SAP, Intranet, Avantor Inventory Management Systems, and customer-specific systems for inventory fulfillment and reporting. Continuous Improvement & Compliance: * Meet performance goals for safety, quality, and efficiency. * Create programs to enhance service efficiencies and document change management. * Interface with Avantor sales teams and manufacturer representatives. Other Duties: * Perform desktop delivery of inbound packages to customer contacts. * Take on additional responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications: Education: * High School Diploma or GED required. Experience: * Background in material handling, inventory replenishment, or customer service. * Experience in shipping, inventory management, or purchasing preferred. * Familiarity with scientific products and services is a plus. Skills & Abilities: * Technical Proficiency: Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel. * Customer Service: Strong communication and a professional, solution-oriented attitude. * Safety & Quality: High regard for adherence to safety protocols and quality standards. * Self-Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently. * Knowledge Base: Understanding of scientific products, shipping, and purchasing processes is advantageous.
