Posting Number:25-02-05-3511Pay Grade:25E ( ANTICIPATED STARTING SALARY $115,000 )Agency / Dept. / Office:Fire RescueClosing Date:March 6, 2025Job Summary:This position manages, coordinates, and directs various work units within the Lake County Fire Rescue Department. Assists with program evaluation in accordance with policy and addresses any compliance issues. Assigned to administration and may oversee training, Emergency Medical Services, ISO compliance, Special Operations Team, and other duties as assigned. Additional duties include responding to fire, rescue, emergency medical alarms, and may coordinate emergency activities with other agencies in first response or mutual aid situations.Work is performed with considerable independence requiring the exercise of discretion, sound judgement, and self-initiative under the general direction of the Fire Chief. Work performance is reviewed through observations, conferences, meetings, reports, and results achieved.This position shall be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Requires a Bachelor's degree in fire science, public administration, or a closely related field.Minimum of seven years of progressively upward career growth in a public safety agency related to Fire, Rescue, EMS, and/or Dispatch service with at least two years of related experience at the rank of Battalion Chief or mid-level supervisor or higher in a career public safety agency related to fire, EMS, or dispatch services.LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, CREDENTIALS, AND DESIGNATIONS REQUIRED:DUAL CERTIFICATION (Firefighter and EMT/Paramedic) CANDIDATES REQUIREMENTS:Must possess and maintain a state of Florida Firefighter CertificationFlorida Fire Officer I certificate prior to July 1, 2014Florida Fire Officer II certification or higher received after July 1, 2014Active State of Florida Paramedic CertificateIncident Safety Officer (40-hour class within one year of promotion)Valid Florida Driver's LicenseIncident Command Certificates in: IS-100, IS-200, IS-300, IS-400, IS-700, and IS-800SINGLE CERTIFICATION (EMT/Paramedic) CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:Active State of Florida Paramedic CertificateIncident Command Certificates in: IS-100, IS-200, IS-300, IS-400, IS-700, and IS-800Incident Safety Officer (40-hour class within one year of promotion)Valid Florida Driver's LicenseDesired Certifications include:Graduate of National Fire Academy: Managing Fire Officer ProgramCertified Public ManagerFire InspectorFire InstructorFire Code AdministratorMay be required to obtain approval to practice under the license of the Medical DirectorDesired Credentialing and Designation include:Chief Fire Officer (CPSE)Chief EMS Officer (CPSE)Chief Training Officer (CPSE)Fire Marshal (CPSE)Fire Officer (CPSE)Member Grade (Institution of Fire Engineers, USA Branch)May be required to obtain other technical or professional certifications or designations as directed by the Public Safety Director.#J-18808-Ljbffr
