EOC Adjunct Lecturer - Humanities/Professional Skills (BEOC)FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENTEducational Opportunity Centers (EOC) provide academic instruction, vocational training, and support to educationally and economically disadvantaged adults. EOC Lecturers perform teaching and related faculty functions in area(s) of expertise, including student advisement, curriculum development, and activities to advance the Centers' educational goals.The State University of New York, Brooklyn Educational Opportunity Center (BEOC), administered by New York City College of Technology/ CUNY, provides tuition-free academic and workforce development training to eligible New York State residents, offering a pathway to lifelong learning, college access and economic self-sufficiency. The BEOC welcomes applications for the position of EOC Adjunct Lecturer. There are multiple positions in the following non-credit certificate programs/courses:Developmental English (College Preparation Reading, Writing)English for Speakers of Other Languages (various levels)High School Equivalency (Reading, Writing, Social Studies)Student Professional Skills (soft skills) DevelopmentClasses may be held in the day or evening.QUALIFICATIONSMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSAdvanced degree in related areaThree to five years' related work experienceKnowledge and application of effective pedagogy principles in creating meaningful and successful learning opportunitiesBackground in teaching diverse student populations, especially non-traditional studentsRecent college/adult education teaching experienceExperience in integration of technology in the classroom and using technology-based instruction that enhances student performanceCOMPENSATION$91.67 per hourCUNY offers faculty a competitive compensation and benefits package covering health insurance, pension and retirement benefits, paid parental leave, and savings programs.
