Our team members come from leading innovators, both in and out of the automotive industry, including Tesla, Rivian, Canoo, Ford, Anduril, and SpaceX.Founded in 2021, Harbinger is a venture-backed startup on a rapid growth trajectory, looking for candidates that thrive on tackling complex challenges and who share in our passion to bring clean transportation alternatives to a segment of the market starving for innovation.Job OverviewThe Head of Quality will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining a world-class quality management system (QMS) that aligns with automotive and EV industry standards. This individual will oversee all quality functions, ensuring product reliability, compliance, and customer satisfaction while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Additionally, this leader will oversee and integrate the four core departments within quality: Product Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Supplier Quality and Customer Quality, ensuring seamless alignment across all aspects of the organization.What You'll Do:Develop and implement a strategic quality roadmap to support the company's growth and product evolution.Establish and maintain a comprehensive company-wide Quality Management System (QMS) compliant with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.Define quality metrics and KPIs to monitor product performance, supplier quality, and manufacturing processes.Oversee and drive excellence in Customer Quality, Product Quality, Manufacturing Quality and Supplier Quality, ensuring each function operates at the highest industry standards.Lead Supplier Quality management, ensuring all suppliers meet rigorous automotive-grade quality requirements.Implement advanced quality planning (APQP), failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and statistical process control (SPC) methodologies.Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Kaizen to enhance product reliability and manufacturing efficiency.Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action processes (CAPA) for quality-related issues in development and production.Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Regulatory Compliance teams to embed quality into product development.Ensure regulatory compliance with global automotive standards, including FMVSS, UN-ECE, NHTSA, and EPA requirements.Spearhead Customer Quality assurance efforts, managing warranty claims, customer feedback, and field failure analysis.Develop and mentor a high-performing quality team, fostering a proactive quality culture across the organization.Who You AreBachelor's or Master's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, or equivalent.15+ years of experience in automotive quality, with at least 8 years in a leadership role (EV experience preferred).Expertise in IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and APQP methodologies.Proven track record in scaling quality systems in a fast-paced startup or high-growth automotive environment.Strong experience in EV powertrain, battery systems, electronics and general assembly quality assurance.Hands-on experience with FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, SPC, and Root Cause Analysis (8D, 5Why, Ishikawa, etc.).Deep knowledge of automotive regulatory requirements and industry best practices.Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt / Black Belt), CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), or equivalent is a plus.Rev up your career with our electrifying compensation and benefits package!
