This position offers a call-only role, responding to phone consults, assessing patients, and managing admissions during the weekend shifts. The ideal candidate will have experience in General Otolaryngology, including both surgical and non-surgical procedures, as well as experience with endoscopic procedures and trauma cases.Key Responsibilities:Provide weekend on-call coverage for the Otolaryngology department, with a call ratio of 1:7.Respond to phone consults (5-10 per weekend) and assess patients as necessary.Evaluate and manage 1-10 patients per day, including admissions (1-10) as needed.Perform a range of Otolaryngology procedures, including:Endoscopic procedures: Septal surgery, Sinus surgery, Flexible and Rigid Endoscopy, Laryngoscopy.Tracheotomy management.Surgical interventions in General Otolaryngology, including surgical and non-surgical cases.Preferred surgeries: Thyroidectomy, Extended Parotidectomy, Radical Neck Surgery, Facial Reconstruction, Complex and General Head & Neck cases.Trauma management within a Level 1 Trauma Center.Provide exceptional patient care and collaborate with other medical teams to ensure comprehensive treatment.Skills & Experience Required:General Otolaryngology expertise required, including both surgical and non-surgical management of patients.Proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures, including:Septal surgerySinus surgeryFlexible and Rigid EndoscopyLaryngoscopyExperience in Tracheotomy management and related procedures.Preferred experience with Thyroidectomy, Extended Parotidectomy, Radical Neck Surgery, Facial Reconstruction, and Complex Head & Neck surgeries.Ability to handle trauma cases in a Level 1 Trauma Center setting.Certifications Required:BLS (Basic Life Support)ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) CertificationLicensing Requirements:Must be MN licensed or eligible for licensure through IMLC (Interstate Medical Licensure Compact).Call Details:Call Coverage: Weekend call from Friday-Sunday with a 1:7 call ratio.Call Response Time: 30 minutes.Patient Volume: 0-10 patients per day, with 1-10 admissions on weekends.EMR System: Epic.Additional Notes:This is a call-only position, offering flexible weekend scheduling while providing critical on-call support to a busy trauma center.If you're eager to impact patient care and seek flexible opportunities, we'd love to hear from you!
