We are seeking a Machinist to help our manufacturing production and reach new height as an organization!Why join us?Growth opportunitiesExcellent BenefitsJob DetailsPosition Overview:With minimal supervision, and working from blueprints, sketches, and both written and verbal instructions, the machinist is responsible for setting up and performing a wide range of complex machining, fitting, and assembly operations. The machinist will determine the appropriate tooling and the sequence of operations, and will skillfully use a variety of hand tools and machine shop measuring instruments to meet precise specifications. The role requires expertise in making intricate setups, operating machine tools, and selecting the proper jigs, fixtures, and tool designs for each task.Key Responsibilities:Perform complex setups and operate machine tools effectively, determining the correct operational sequences, jigs, fixtures, and tool designs.Skillfully utilize all machinist hand tools and measuring instruments to complete tasks to precise specifications.Be proficient in machining a variety of materials.Apply advanced shop math, including geometry and trigonometry, to solve machining problems.Safely move parts to and from work areas as needed.Maintain a clean and organized work environment.Adhere to safety protocols and company policies in the machine shop.Carry out additional tasks and duties as assigned by supervisory staff.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent education required.Completion of an apprenticeship program or similar on-the-job training, with approximately four years of experience, or a minimum of five years of experience as a machinist.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Proficient in operating both standard and specialized equipment to produce prototype and production parts.Ability to perform standard shop calculations, utilizing technical math, geometry, and trigonometry.Deep understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) in both standard and metric systems.Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with others in a group setting.Equipment and Machinery:Proficient in operating Bridgeport-type milling machines.Proficient in using Hardinge-type tool room precision lathes, as well as engine lathes.Skilled in using tool and surface grinders.Proficient with all shop inspection equipment, including CMMs, comparators, digital height gauges, micrometers, and more.Interested in hearing more?
