This position will work with R&D management, project managers and engineers to establish a schedule that meets communicated customer deliveries. This position will be responsible for supervising, training, motivation, and providing direction to pre-production operator team in order to ensure that builds are completed on time, according to schedule and to the required quality standards.Work Location/Schedule• This position requires the employee to be onsite at our New Hope, MN location with minimal travel to other VitalPath sites.• Shift/Schedule: Monday - Friday 6am-2:30pm• VitalPath does not offer relocation assistance for this position.Responsibilities• Supervision of production team to ensure targets for Safety, Quality, Costs, and Deliveries are achieved.• Responsible for selecting and delegating work orders to direct reports.• Ensure operators are trained properly and can demonstrate needed skills to complete work on time with high quality.• Develop personal growth opportunities to facilitate potential career growth for their team members.• Executive a training program to ensure direct reports are competent on procedures and maintain compliance with training requirements per the Quality Management System (QMS).• Responsible for working with the R&D Manager to identify staffing needs and maintain proper staffing levels by submitting HR staff requisitions needed to recruit, select, and backfill for direct reports.• Track, monitor, and analyze production performance and corresponding direct reports performance including performance reviews.• Work with quality and engineering to ensure nonconforming material reports initiated, proper dispositions are executed, root cause analysis is completed, and proper solutions are implemented.• Provide leadership and direction for the execution of current Good Manufacturing Practices, and Good Documentation Practices as well as other key VitalPath policies and procedures.• Conduct and enforce first article and in-process inspection to ensure components are being built to specification.• Review build documentation on a daily basis to ensure proper documentation is completed and accurate.• Perform data entry into Microsoft excel/ERP system or equivalent.• Responsible for reporting data and analysis to project leads and R&D Manager.• Maintain a safe and clean work environment be educating and directing personnel on the use of all equipment, personal protective equipment, as well as maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.• Participate in R&D team meetings to serve as a representative on behalf of the pre-production operators.• Additional duties as assigned.Required Qualifications• High School diploma or GED or equivalent• 5+ years' experience working in Research & Development or experience leading in production assembly• Ability to follow and provide written and verbal instructions• Attention to detail• Ability to read and understand measurements• Ability to read and understand dimensions and tolerances on blueprints/specifications• Proficient basic math skills including metric conversions• Ability to lead in a team environment and promote collaboration across functions• Ability to perform job with limited or no supervision• Strong understanding of processes used in catheter assembly including but not limited to, liner stretching, coiling and braiding, reflow/thermal bonding processes, skiving heat shrink, annealing and cutting braid, terminating braid and coils, and loading extrusions• Strong understanding of dimensional inspection and visual workmanship requirements• Capable of data entry in various computer programs• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English• Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and OutlookPreferred Qualifications• Associate's degree in a relevant technical field• Training as a Manager, Supervisor, or equivalent experience• Expert understanding of processes and workmanship standards used in catheter assembly• Working knowledge of ISO 13485 and cGMP• ERP/Business Central experienceCompensation Package• The salary range for this position is $70,125 - $93,500.
