Critical Facilities Maintenance Technician (Electrical/Mechanical) Position Overview:"¯We are seeking a proactive and skilled Critical Facilities Maintenance Technician with a strong focus on facility operations. This role involves managing the critical infrastructure of the data center. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical and operational expertise to ensure seamless integration of facility functions. Key Responsibilities: Facility Operations * Environmental Monitoring:"¯Regularly inspect and monitor environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, airflow, and power usage, ensuring optimal data center conditions. * Critical Infrastructure Maintenance:"¯Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on data center infrastructure, including HVAC, generators, UPS systems, PDUs, and fire suppression systems. * Incident Management:"¯Quickly respond to alarms and outages, diagnose root causes, and execute corrective actions to minimize downtime. * Compliance and Safety:"¯Adhere to industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements for facility operations. * Reporting and Documentation:"¯Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, incidents, and system performance metrics. Mechanical Responsibilities: * Cooling Systems Maintenance:"¯Perform maintenance and repairs on cooling systems, including CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, cooling towers, and pumps. * HVAC Systems:"¯Oversee the operation and maintenance of HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. * Environmental Control:"¯Monitor and adjust environmental controls to maintain proper temperature and humidity levels within the data center. * Preventative Maintenance:"¯Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems to prevent failures and ensure reliability. * System Upgrades:"¯Assist in the planning and implementation of upgrades to mechanical systems to improve efficiency and capacity. Electrical Responsibilities: * Power Systems Management:"¯Manage and maintain electrical systems, including UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and PDUs. * Electrical Troubleshooting:"¯Diagnose and repair electrical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining system reliability. * Load Management:"¯Monitor and manage electrical loads to ensure balanced and efficient power distribution. * Safety Compliance:"¯Ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards and regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures and arc flash protection. * System Monitoring:"¯Perform daily operational readings and inspections of all electrical equipment to identify and address potential issues proactively. Collaboration and Cross-Functional Support * Work closely with facility managers and clients to maintain seamless operations. * Participate in cross-functional training to expand knowledge in facility domains. * Provide feedback and recommendations for improving data center operations and workflows. Qualifications: Required Skills and Experience * Education:"¯High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or associate degree in electrical or mechanical related field preferred. * Experience:"¯2+ years in data center operations, facilities management, or a related field. * Technical Skills:"¯Basic understanding of electrical, HVAC, and building management systems (BMS). * Certifications:"¯Data Center-specific certifications (e.g., CDCTP) are a plus. Soft Skills * Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. * Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. * Clear and effective communication skills for team and client interactions.
