Tasks and Responsibilities: * Maintain a safe work environment. * Direct the workforce in a quality conscious manner and assure timely scheduling of the work through the areas. * Develop and maintain systems to measure and drive Key Metrics. * Train and direct those employees who support this position. * Direct the activities of shift production. * Ensure proper start up and lock down of facility. * Lead a team environment with high level of energy. * Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices. * Develop and maintain common sense manufacturing practices in all areas. * Perform activities as directed by Business Unit Managers. * Support supervisors on others shifts and promote a team work environment * Monitor and improve production rates throughout the operations providing feedback to Operations and Business Unit Manager. * Participate in, and continuously improve, the facility's certification programs (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, AS9100D, etc.) to achieve plant goals and objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE: * Working with engineering or sales. * Filling in for other supervisors. * Supplier contact relative to equipment and tooling purchases. * Develop and maintain work cells and SBU's. * Be familiar with critical environmental aspects for assigned areas of responsibility and respond accordingly based on the Aspects and Impacts Matrix, procedures and/or training. Competencies * Clear and concise communication including verbal, email, and professional office software, (e.g. Word, Power Point). (Business Strategy) * Effective work planning to include: * Manpower assignments (Effective Business Management) * Material Scheduling (Effective Business Management) * Time Management (Business Strategy) * Proficient at setting and achieving established goals. (Focusing on Action and Outcomes) Required Education and/OR Experience * Two year degree or five+ years of related manufacturing experience. Preferred Education and/or Experience * Good leadership and organizational skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize. * Mechanical aptitude including CNC skills. * Basic understanding of DNC system. * Sound knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Process Mapping, SMED, and 5S, Standard Work, Green Belt preferred. * Basic understanding of employment law and Union correspondence.
