Responsibilities The duties include, but are not limited to: FIELD PLACEMENT, CHAIR and LIAISON: Coordinates the field placement of student teachers as well as the practicum and internship placement of school counselors. Serves as chair of Partner School Network (PSN) Committee, which includes, but is not limited to, recruiting partner schools, maintaining contacts, and planning bi-annual meetings. Serves as liaison for all school districts supporting the college's educator preparation program (i.e., Teacher and Counselor Education). ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS: Complete administrative tasks related to student field placement and certification acquisition (e.g., forms and documentation, records management, student placement and supervision [virtual and onsite], certification oversight, information system management, and site visits). Communicate student placement deadlines and processes to students via websites, information systems, and consultation. DEVELOP STUDENT TEACHING COURSES: Coordinate student teachers (i.e., inspect student teacher qualifications, lead orientation, manage clinical teacher compensation). Develop student teaching courses and maintain syllabi (in collaboration with the Department Chair). Recruits, trains, and supervisors qualified part-time university supervisors for student teaching supervision. TEACHER ACCREDITATION AND CERTIFICATION: Attend to accreditation teacher placement requirements and certification processes. Maintains all Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with school districts. Lead, develop, and/or support college events and conferences. Participate in prescribed university, college, state, and professional meetings. Attend to other duties as assigned by the Dean of the College of Education and Human Development. OTHER DUTIES: Perform all other job-related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in Education, Public Relations, Communication or closely related field with a minimum of one year of applicable experience. Strong computer skills that include word processing, creating and managing databases, and presentation software. Preferred Qualifications Highly competent in public school settings. Autonomous and self-driven professional, self-starter- and problem-solver. Preferred Education and Experience Master's degree from accredited college or university. Proficient in data management and technology (e.g. data storage and learning management systems), knowledge of educator preparation programs, K-12 teacher or leader experience, knowledge or experience of professional accreditation. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities KNOWLEDGE Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases SKILLS Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and organizational skills Outstanding people skills and a thorough understanding of, and commitment to USG policies governing operations ABILITIES Ability to work independently to perform complex tasks efficiently Ability to maintain high ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students and the college¿s educational role. Ability to remain flexible and adaptable as processes change. Shift/Salary/Benefits Shift: Days/M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required) Pay Band: B11 Salary: Minimum $56,600/annual - Midpoint $67,808/annual Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum midpoint) of the position.
