Job Details Job Location: Main Campus - North Canton, OH Position Type: Staff (Full-Time) Salary Range: Undisclosed Description Position Summary Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and skilled repairs to mechanical components, diagnosing problems with cars, trucks and small engine vehicles (tractors, lawn equipment) etc. Reports to Maintenance Supervisor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: * Performs preventative and condition-based maintenance to support repairs and maintenance of vehicular equipment, small engine repairs and variety of assets across campus. * Supports the efforts of the Maintenance Department in various trade-work such as mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and other duties as assigned. * Reading (e.g., technical manuals), writing, (e.g., work logs), and accurately follow oral, written, and graphic instructions. * Diagnosing problems and determining appropriate action. * Reads and utilizes One-line-diagrams and electrical schematics to perform required maintenance and troubleshooting. * Other duties as assigned or required. Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Must understand and support the Mission, Vision and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University, as a Catholic higher education university as expressed in Ex Corde Ecclesiae, and possess the following: Education: * High school diploma or equivalent required. Trade/ Vocational School preferred. Work Experience: * Minimum of two years of verifiable skilled industrial or commercial mechanic experience (or equivalent training or experience which provides comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities) preferred. Skills and abilities: * Professional demeanor and ability to interact with charity towards students, staff and faculty. Positive attitude a must. * Acceptable driving record, and valid driver's license required for insurance purposes. * Maintenance and comprehensive vehicle repair experience preferred * Working knowledge of testing and repair tools and equipment * Familiarity with basic computer programs * Excellent communication and customer service skills * Flexible schedule Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
