The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the Accounting and Finance Department, ensuring the effective operations of the team. This role requires a strategic leader who can empower their team to think critically, embrace innovation, and continuously improve. The SVP, Controller will be tasked with overseeing the monthly financial close process, maintaining compliance with GAAP and banking regulations, driving process improvement, and leading the adoption of automation in the accounting and finance functions. Additionally, the role involves providing support and guidance on a wide range of financial, operational, and accounting matters, as well as managing various financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and budgeting processes. Candidates for the SVP, Controller position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting or Finance, and a CPA license, post-graduate coursework, or an MBA is preferred. A minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience in a banking environment, or a related field, is required, with prior experience as a financial institution Controller or Assistant Controller being a plus. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in GAAP, income tax, and regulatory reporting, as well as proven leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Excel.
