The successful candidate will be accountable for maintaining the integrity of the organization's funds, ensuring confidentiality, and upholding legal and ethical standards. This position requires a technical skill set with a strong background in accounting, bookkeeping, or fundraising, and experience with financial software such as QuickBooks is preferred. The Treasurer will be a non-voting member of the Board of Directors, chair the Finance Committee, and be responsible for a range of tasks including budget supervision, financial reporting, and leading the annual budgeting process. Applicants for the Treasurer position at the company should be prepared to engage in a variety of essential duties. These include amending and evaluating the organization's financial strategy, maintaining bank and credit card accounts, overseeing all financial transactions, and assisting with financial decisions related to the non-profit's status and taxes. The role also involves acting as a liaison between the Board of Directors and the organization's accountant or bookkeeper, and in the absence of a dedicated bookkeeper, the Treasurer will be expected to conduct data entry and reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have a background in accounting or finance, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to work collaboratively with the Board and other stakeholders.
