The successful candidate will be responsible for the University's legal strategy, advising on a wide array of legal matters, and ensuring legal compliance across all areas of the organization. This role involves serving as a key strategic advisor to the President, Board of Trustees, and senior leadership, particularly in the areas of academic freedom, free speech, athletics, corporate governance, and various regulatory and compliance issues. The General Counsel will also lead a team of attorneys, manage outside counsel, and be a central figure in the University's mission, core values, and strategic plan. Applicants must have a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, be licensed to practice law, and have a minimum of 15 years' relevant legal experience.
