The successful candidate will serve as a commercial counsel, with a primary focus on drafting, negotiating, and advising on a variety of agreements, including vendor, technology, marketing, construction, and product agreements. This role also involves staying up-to-date on regulatory, data privacy, and intellectual property developments that are relevant to the business. The Senior Counsel will work closely with internal stakeholders to manage the company's legal and compliance needs, contribute to the company's growth by identifying and mitigating legal risks, and support cross-functional teams with legal advice. The position requires a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, admission to the NJ bar or the ability to secure in-house licensure, and 5-8+ years of legal experience, with a preference for those with a background in CPG, ingredients, or the pet industry. The ideal candidate for the Senior Counsel position at the company will have a strong background in commercial law, with excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills. Experience in commercial contracts, marketing, and vendor agreements is preferred, and knowledge of privacy laws is a strong plus. The role demands a professional with strong thought leadership, business partnering skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. The candidate should be a proactive problem-solver, capable of balancing legal and business risks, and have a proven track record of understanding business needs and finding creative solutions.
