The successful candidate will be a US-qualified lawyer with a strong background in technology and transactional law, particularly in the areas of product development and commercial sales. This role is pivotal in providing legal support and counsel to the Open Banking team, acting as an advisor on commercial objectives and strategy. Key responsibilities include legal and business risk assessment of new product constructs, sales agreements, and go-to-market strategies, as well as structuring, drafting, and negotiating a variety of contracts within the open banking ecosystem. The role also involves collaboration with product, legal, and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Applicants for this role should have solid transactional training and experience, with a preference for those who have worked both in law firms and in-house. Experience in open banking or other regulated products is a specific plus. The ideal candidate will have strong drafting and negotiating skills, the ability to simplify complex concepts, and a keen business insight. They should be a fast learner, detail-oriented, and a team player, capable of managing multiple projects and demands.
