The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction and development, from initial planning to execution, and will work closely with the owners to build and manage both private and commercial projects. This role involves playing a strategic part in generating, analyzing, and transacting real estate investment opportunities, as well as being a key representative in all construction and planning meetings. The Head of Construction and Development will also be tasked with negotiating and managing agreements, building and monitoring budgets, and serving as a technical resource for in-house maintenance and caretaking staff. Key responsibilities for the Head of Construction and Development include strategizing and analyzing real estate investment opportunities, collaborating on transactions, and executing development. The role also involves working with general contractors on major renovations and new builds, maintaining and monitoring various properties, and managing project schedules. The ideal candidate should be a team player, with a strong focus on collaboration, and be prepared to be budget accountable, track spending, and provide feedback. Additionally, the role requires the ability to conduct forensic work on existing structures with contract performance issues and to be proactive in formulating plans to rectify problems.
