8982 - Project Engineer (Open) Location: 1027 Newport Ave, Pawtucket RI 02862Duration: 6 Months+Pay rate: $42/hourWork Arrangement: Hybrid or Fulltime in office, must be flexible with days in office Client is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Fashion Brands and Action Brand Engineering Team, located in Pawtucket RI. In this position you will be responsible for the engineering development of products for assigned product lines ensuring performance, cost, quality, and schedule adherence. Utilizing solid communication, problem solving, mechanical engineering and 3D computer skills, you will function as the engineering lead from initial concept through production start. This includes interfacing with diverse multi-functional teams located at our Pawtucket and Burbank offices, and direct communication with product development partners in Rhode Island and Hong Kong offices, and other locations around the world. Additionally, you will actively participate and add value to the product development process by identifying and implementing innovative methods and solutions that will deliver on product objectives by providing the most cost effective engineering direction. As part of the cross functional development team, you will be actively involved in defining the initial product, exploring new materials and new processes, and developing and defining product specifications. You will participate in and help drive the decision making process throughout the product development cycle. Roles & Responsibilities: Collaborate with design and marketing on generating new concepts, and provide technical advice and assessment. Design and build proof of concept models as needed to prove out feasibility. Collaborate with Cost Engineering to estimate product costs, recommend cost reduction options, and drive team to cost decisions. Create product and performance specifications. Gather and report accurate information for the key stakeholders to make informed decisions. Anticipate, analyze, resolve and escalate project issues throughout all stages of product lifecycle. Lead product review meetings and review engineering pilot samples for function, aesthetics and quality issues. Communicate project details with Far East/Domestic engineering as well as other global development, marketing and operational partners. Monitor continuous improvement initiatives to improve process efficiency and productivity. Required Skills: Understanding and familiarity with different materials, molding processes, and assembly methods. Ability to problem solve and find creative solutions to technical problems. Ability to describe and communicate technical aspects of product development to non-technical team members. Demonstrates strong collaboration across functions. Manages expectations when it comes to functionality, cost, and timing. Strong communication skills. Ability to review and navigate CAD. Required Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or relevant experience. Required Years of Experience: Mid-Level - Requires technical knowledge, training and understanding of a job's requirements. Typically possesses 3 to 6 years of relevant work experience. Desired Skills: Experience working with partners in China, Vietnam, Japan, and India. Experience in the toy industry. Experience with consumer electronics.
