Job Summary The Senior Technology Software Engineer supports IT Infrastructure platforms and technologies hosted on-premises and in AWS Virtual Private Cloud. This role is responsible for Cloud Engineering and will provide technical cloud engineering subject matter expertise for multiple technology projects. This includes enhancing and building tools to drive enhancements of cloud operations, crafting high-performance service solutions, continuous deployment to build cloud technologies of the future, and building solution parity across platforms. The Cloud Engineer is involved in the full technology life cycle of designing, configuring, developing, documenting, and testing solutions to meet business or technology requirements from application reliability and cyber security hardening perspective. This includes developing, administering, and executing preventive maintenance programs, overseeing problem management, performing root cause analysis, and corrective action plans. Responsible for the day-to-day administration, technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades, patching, performance and overall health of a variety of cyber security tools within a Microsoft Windows, Linux and UNIX server environments. Job Responsibilities Designing the cloud infrastructure, cloud application architecture, and cloud security architecture while ensuring project compliance with IT security policies. Working with IT staff and management, and cloud technology vendors to plan, design, build, implement, and support new and existing cloud hosting services. Building tools and automation to achieve better availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency. Monitoring production and development environments to build preventive measures for a fail-safe experience for customers. Documenting and communicating clearly to architect and implement solutions. Working closely across teams to bridge the gap between product managers, architects, and implement reliable consistent solutions. Collaborating with delivery teams on software improvements to achieve higher availability and lower mean time to discovery (MTTD). Working with IT and Cyber security for related Infrastructure projects and initiatives. Ensuring Quality Control and Assurance procedures are consistent with Infrastructure specifications, client requirements, and corporate policies. Performing reviews and/or Root Cause Analysis on production systems failures, formulating corrective action plans, and tracking their effectiveness. Requires working in a 24x7 environment with callout. Job Specific Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related technical field. A minimum of 6 years of experience within the IT field or an industry with reliance on technical expertise. Demonstrated knowledge of Information Technology principles including Infrastructure support, system administration, and application support. Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current cloud computing trends. Deep understanding of ALB, EC2, ECS, S3, and networking including VPC and VPN configurations. Strong understanding of AWS security best practices, including VPC design, IAM roles, and policies. Strong working experience in developing Infrastructure as Code CloudFormation templates for Infrastructure automation. Ability to diagnose and resolve complex Infrastructure issues in mixed on-prem and AWS environment workloads. Experience managing technical projects, including conflict resolution, issue escalations, and resource management. Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, leadership, and all levels of staff. Desired Qualifications: Certification in Microsoft Azure Cloud and/or Amazon Web Services. 4+ years of public cloud experience (GCP, AWS or OpenStack). Experience with Incident Management Process, SRE best practices, and continuous improvements.
