Job Overview: The AVP of Health Equity is responsible for advancing the health equity agenda across RWJBarnabas Health's northern or southern region. This role provides leadership and strategic direction for the integration of health equity principles into clinical, operational, and community-based initiatives. The AVP of Health Equity will collaborate with executive leadership, hospital presidents, and community partners to reduce health disparities and promote equitable access to care. Qualifications: Required: Master's degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Social Work, or a related field required. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in public health, health equity, or community health, with progressive leadership experience. Proven track record of developing and leading health equity programs within a healthcare setting. Familiarity with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards related to health equity. Preferred: Experience with data analytics and reporting related to health disparities. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including community groups, healthcare providers, and policymakers. Bilingual skills or experience working with diverse, multilingual populations. Essential Functions: Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of regional health equity plans aligned with system-wide goals. Drive the execution of health equity initiatives that improve access, reduce disparities, and enhance patient outcomes. Serve as a thought leader and advocate for health equity across clinical and non-clinical departments. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the impact of health equity programs. Program Development and Oversight: Oversee the design and implementation of regional programs addressing health disparities, including efforts related to SDOH, language access, and culturally competent care. Manage partnerships with community-based organizations to improve health outcomes for underserved populations. Ensure alignment of regional programs with RWJBH's Health Equity Collaborative and other system-wide initiatives. Data Analysis and Reporting: Collaborate with data teams to gather and analyze data on health outcomes, SDOH, and patient demographics. Develop dashboards and reporting mechanisms to track health equity performance and share findings with leadership and stakeholders. Utilize data to inform decision-making and develop targeted interventions. Collaboration and Partnerships: Partner with hospital leadership, medical staff, and community organizations to advance health equity efforts. Serve as a liaison between the health system, community groups, and public health entities to foster collaborative initiatives. Work closely with RWJBH's community health teams, diversity and inclusion leaders, and external stakeholders to ensure comprehensive approaches to health equity. Compliance and Accreditation: Support hospitals in meeting accreditation standards related to health equity, including those from NCQA, Joint Commission, and CMS. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to health equity and nondiscrimination. Lead efforts to prepare for and maintain health equity accreditations as applicable.
