The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical work, welding, and plant maintenance, with a particular focus on the building materials industry. This role requires a high level of skill, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently to ensure the smooth operation of our machinery and equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including the installation, maintenance, and inspection of piping systems, the performance of welding and cutting assignments, and the maintenance of plant equipment.Responsibilities:Perform pipefitter assignments to install, maintain, and inspect existing and future piping structures on all types of piping systems.Inspect lubrication for mechanical equipment, record data for running equipment, take lab samples as required, drain oil and change oil and filters on all equipment oil reservoirs.Perform welding and cutting assignments such as fabrication of plant equipment and structures and repair of worn process equipment according to plant standards.Perform millwright assignments such as bearing replacement, alignment of equipment, and inspection and repair of power transmission according to plant standards.Perform plumbing inspection and repair on plant equipment and facilities.Maintain plant equipment to ensure optimal operation and prevent breakdowns.Apply mathematical skills to perform conversions and measurements in both metric and decimal systems.Read and understand technical information contained in manuals, reports, and work-related instruction in English.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry.Prior mechanical experience/welding experience, training, or certification required.Prior plant maintenance mechanic experience a plus.Good mathematical skills, including basic math, fractions, and conversions of four-five digit numbers and common units of measurement in both metric and decimal systems.Ability to read and understand English sufficiently to be able to read technical information contained in manuals, reports, and mechanical work-related instruction, including safety issues and matters.Electrical and mechanical knowledge to detect potential safety hazards and breakdown of plant and quarry machinery and equipment and respond accordingly.High level of attentiveness and physical coordination to perform the work activities safely.If you have a passion for mechanics and a keen eye for detail, we would love to hear from you.
