Overview The Barista position is someone who has full knowledge of all coffee, tea, and retail items in Malvern Buttery's Beverage Program, and can not only execute, but can also educate the community and fellow staff members on the high quality products and ingredients that are sourced. This person will act as a brand ambassador of The Buttery and work in conjunction with the Lead Barista to ensure an exceptional customer experience and a great working environment. Responsibilities Prepare and serve beverages according to The Buttery's standards in a timely manner. Foster a culture of respect, support, and teamwork. Assist the Lead Barista in enforcing health, food safety, and sanitation standards in the Front of House (FOH). Report potential safety hazards to the Lead Barista. Restock shelves and assist with the distribution of weekly deliveries as needed. Routinely clean the bar area, customer tables, and coffee equipment. Provide efficient and friendly service at all times. Accurately ring up sales, handle cash, and give change in a courteous and friendly manner. Report customer comments to the Lead Barista or General Manager. Maintain neatness and cleanliness in retail displays, storage areas, and the FOH bar area. Monitor cleanliness and organization of all FOH spaces, including outdoor areas, and report any property damage to the Lead Barista. Ensure beverage standards are upheld across the team in coordination with the Lead Barista. Continue education on coffee and tea products. Collaborate with the Lead Barista and AGM to train new staff on culture, beverage procedures, and customer service. Qualifications At least 1 year of experience in high-volume coffee preferred Previous customer service experience in food and beverage or retail setting preferred. Excellent time management, organizational, and listening skills. Strong understanding of coffee drink execution. Passion for hospitality and providing excellent customer service. Love for all things food and beverage.
