The Production Supervisor is responsible for clearly communicating the Safety, People, Quality, Rate and Cost goals and expectations of the department to the team, coach & mentor the production associates, motivate the team to reach higher and solve problems to achieve the business objectives."¯ The ideal candidate will not accept the status quo and constantly look for ways to eliminate waste and drive continuous improvement of processes and procedures. They must have a strong background in manufacturing with the ability to work cross functionally with engineering, quality, maintenance, and management on a wide variety of issues and corrective actions identified. Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving skills are an absolute requirement to establish effective working relationships within Tesla. The successful candidate for this position is hands-on, a dynamic people leader who embraces change, passionate about manufacturing, has strong analytical abilities, organization skills, attention to detail and decision-making ability in an ambiguous environment."¯ They appreciate an environment where superior work is encouraged, noticed, and rewarded. * Manage up to 45-50 Production Associates, ensuring daily goals are met, training associates on manufacturing instructions, and collaborating with process engineering, quality, and production teams to improve processes * Foster a culture of safety and 5S by identifying and removing hazards, implementing corrective actions, and addressing safety incidents proactively * Monitor SPCs, FPY rates, and NCM, working with cross-functional teams to identify root causes, resolve quality issues, and reduce scrap * Oversee production performance by identifying bottlenecks, making real-time adjustments, and ensuring daily production goals are met with urgency * Set goals, develop, coach, and mentor team members to support career growth while aligning with organizational objectives * Manage associate schedules, time, attendance, and performance, while supporting issue resolution through root cause analysis and corrective action tracking * Drive continuous improvement by optimizing processes, eliminating waste, and ensuring quality standards are met throughout production, preventing defects from leaving stations * 3-5 years of experience as a people leader in a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on team management, development, hiring, and mentoring * Expertise in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies, and world-class production systems * Extensive experience with various manufacturing processes, including new product development and launch activities * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and analyze production performance metrics such as efficiency, quality, safety, throughput, and costs * Proficient in measurement and inspection techniques to ensure production quality and adherence to standards * Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, highly organized with attention to detail, and capable of managing competing demands under pressure * Proficient in MS Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project, to support reporting and process improvement initiatives
