The North Carolina Department of Administration is seeking applicants for an Administrative Associate II, working title: Administrative Services Representative, for our State Surplus Property division. This division offers surplus property received from state agencies and the University System to other state agencies in need, and/ or sells to qualifying non-profit organizations and the public. This position serves as an Administrative Services Representative at the front desk/counter of the Division of State Surplus Property. Key Responsibilities: * Ensure work is being performed correctly, timely, and is adhering to all applicable policies, procedures, and laws. * Interpret and implement established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws for the disposition of surplus property statewide. * Excellent customer service is a priority. This position has extensive public contact with program clientele, employees, other departments, and the citizens of NC. * Provide services at the front desk by receiving payments, notarizing vehicle titles, ordering duplicate titles, processing default fees, and assisting customers. * Additional duties as assigned. Division/ Department Overview The Department of Administration serves as the business manager for North Carolina state government and provides leadership to state government agencies for the effective, efficient, economical and equitable delivery of services to the public. The department also provides assistance and services to several advocacy programs that serve diverse segments of the state's population that have traditionally been underserved. The agency's mission directs departmental efforts to: acquire, develop and maintain properties and facilities; create and operate an efficient system to purchase and dispose of goods and services to meet the needs of government agencies; provide excellent operational services to state employees; achieve fair and equitable opportunities and representation for various segments of the population that have special needs; and to provide administrative support to independent state government agencies. MANAGEMENT PREFERENCE: * Management prefers applicants with vehicle title experience * Well-developed interpersonal, communication, organizational, and mathematical skills. * Able to prioritize tasks, and adaptable to sudden change in work assignments. * Ability to review and process information to determine conclusions, actions, or compliance with applicable laws, rules, or regulations. * Ability to record, compile, summarize, and perform basic analysis of data. * Work functions must be performed accurately 100% of the time, as inaccuracies reflect upon the capability and integrity of the operation.
