Hiring Range: $24.08-$28.30. The maximum pay for this position is $32.51. The Open Space Resource Technician is a multifaceted position that includes maintenance responsibilities such as; trail work, trash removal, stocking and cleaning restrooms and mowing, and resource management responsibilities such as; safety patrols, property monitoring, and public outreach. Schedule: April - October. Full-time, generally 5 days per week, 8am-5pm, however, a flexible schedule can be considered. View our full job description here In this position you'll be: * Working independently, leading projects from start to finish with a results-oriented mindset. * Playing a vital role in conservation, directly contributing to the preservation of our precious open spaces. * Enjoying the great outdoors daily, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and diverse wildlife. * Developing diverse skills, becoming a jack-of-all-trades in trail maintenance, data collection, communication, and visitor service. * Leaving a lasting legacy, ensuring future generations can experience the beauty and wonder of our natural world. Qualifications Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification, or Registration: * Must be 18 or older * At least one year related experience in landscaping, maintenance or related work required. Or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which produces the required knowledge, skills and abilities. * Education related to Public Lands, Natural Resource Management, Vegetation Management or related fields is preferred. * Minimum of first-aid and CPR certification required within first month of employment. Cost will be covered to obtain certificate. * Three years of experience in landscaping, maintenance, customer service, park or open space management experience preferred. * Experience boating class I-III whitewater rivers is preferred. * Current licensure, or the ability to become certified in the following preferred: * First Responder, Wilderness First Responder, EMT, or similar equivalent * Swift Water Rescue or (State of Colorado) Certified Raft Guide * Chainsaw certification (S-212 or equivalent) * Colorado Department of Agriculture Pesticide Application Technician License View our full job description here Culture & Benefits Working in local government is one of the best career paths in the mountains.
