GENERAL MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

Performs a wide variety of general maintenance activities, skilled and semi-skilled work on buildings and mechanical/electrical/refrigeration/air conditioning/ventilation equipment systems. Repairs, maintains and installs plumbing fixtures and equipment including water pipes, faucets, valves, joints, traps and sewer systems. Performs minor plastering/cement/concrete work, asphalt pavement patching, and interior/exterior painting. Manages the upkeep of tools, equipment and machinery; may be required to enter confined spaces. Work is performed under the Supervision of a Manager, Facility Supervisor and is reviewed through inspections of work in progress and completed project. QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of four (4) years of experience in building/facilities maintenance, repair or construction at the semi-skilled level. PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE WITH: Water/wastewater distribution systems supplies and materials; repairing/maintaining/installing pumps, motors, or plumbing equipment in an industrial/commercial facility (must specify on application); using Advantage/Maximo/asset management software. ¿ Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment. Respiratory screen/chest x-ray and Hearing Loss Test required for selected candidate.
