POSITION: Production Supervisor SUPERVISOR: Production Manager STATUS: Hourly/Non-Exempt PAY RANGE: $25.00 - $29.00 Hourly The base pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary based on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other factors. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing all aspects of daily production and order fulfillment operations, ensuring productivity goals are met or exceeded while maintaining high Quality Assurance standards. This role oversees the proper maintenance, care, and efficient operation of all processing, packing, and warehouse equipment, minimizing repair costs and downtime. The Production Supervisor provides direct supervision to warehouse staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and efficient environment to meet organizational objectives. Reporting to the Production Manager, this position plays a critical role in ensuring smooth production workflows and delivering exceptional results aligned with the Food Banks goals and initiatives. WHAT YOU'LL DO Safety, Compliance, and Sanitation: Supervise and maintain a safe and sanitary work area at all times. Ensure compliance with chemical use, equipment use, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) through training and direction. Maintain AIB standards and follow GMP practices in production areas. Ensure staff and volunteers follow food safety guidelines and safety rules, reporting any accidents or unsafe work conditions to the Warehouse Manager. Monitor and assist with preventive maintenance and equipment upkeep, ensuring timely reporting and completion. Production Planning, Execution, and Quality Control: Collaborate with the Production Manager to plan weekly production and manpower needs. Execute and complete the daily production schedule across all areas. Communicate with other departments to forecast production needs. Ensure QA checks are performed correctly and report issues to the Warehouse Manager. Oversee orderly production processes, such as gleaning incoming produce and perishable items. Train staff and volunteers when new processes are implemented. Inventory, Reporting, and Equipment Management: Maintain accurate and real-time inventory, production reports, and receiving data in NAVISION. Conduct weekly cycle counts and month-end inventory for various programs. Verify produce and product materials, documenting excess damage, discard, and other issues. Ensure forklift drivers complete daily inspections, keep equipment clean, and handle pallets efficiently to minimize damage. Supervise product receiving and storage as needed. Manage paperwork flow related to inventory and production. Duties and responsibilities are subject to change based on business needs QUALIFICATIONS * Minimum High School diploma, some college or other additional education/training preferred. * Minimum four(4) years' experience in food processing, food distribution, or similar manufacturing environment, with two (2) or more years' in supervisor capacity. Two years' experience with AIB, HACCP, GMP, highly desired. * Bilingual English/Spanish required. * Ability to supervise others and work with minimum supervision. * Complete knowledge of warehousing, sanitation and food and general safety practices and procedures. * Certified for use of forklift and pallet jack (manual & electrical), for occasional use. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, job procedures, maintenance instructions and other documents. * Must be detail oriented and organized. * Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal or schedule form. * Consistent; demonstrates ability to be at work on time and with few unplanned absences * Possess a valid California Driver's License and have access to a reliable, insured vehicle. Must be able to travel within Los Angeles County as required. Work assignments may include various facilities and hubs across Los Angeles County, including locations in Los Angeles and the City of Industry, CA.
