Kumiko is a Dining Bar, where food and drink are held together in the same regard. Detailed care goes into everything we create and serve, and we are looking for a line cook to round out our team. We offer three food menus: a la carte, pre fixe, and a seasonal tasting menu. Qualities we look for in our team members include cleanliness, sense of urgency, organization, attention to detail, and a positive mental attitude coupled with a willingness to learn and accept feedback. Key Role and Responsibilities: The Kitchen Team at Kumiko provide guests with a well rounded experience by serving creative and seasonal Japanese dishes. Cooks are responsible for prepping and executing dishes with a high degree of proficiency. They are self motivated, engaged, and work with the highest standard for quality and cleanliness. Day to Day: Communication is key. Cooks can expect to share the line daily with the rest of the kitchen team, making for an environment that works best when everyone is on the same page. We're a small team, and uplift one another by providing hands, encouragement and care to everything we do. The kitchen at Kumiko is proud to be an equitable environment, in which cooks can be expressive, focused and determined to be a part of a great team. Upon arrival, cooks will complete daily prep, set up their stations, and maintain standards throughout service. During service, cooks will practice multiple disciplines per station, aid in the flow of the dining room by providing hands to run food when available, and of course, to share their passion for food with guests! Schedule: FULL TIME Wednesday - Sunday 2:30pm - Close (ranges from 11:45 pm - 12:45 am) As a member of the team, cooks will be active in not only our service charge but tip pool as well. The busier the business is, the more everyone makes. Cooks will work roughly 45 hours/week and will be guaranteed Monday and Tuesday off. In addition to this, Kumiko also offers insurance benefits. Hourly pay starts at $20, with a higher base pay potential at the 90 day mark or based on experience. After tips and service charges, take home hourly will be between $24 and $28.
