Technology - Engineering & Cloud Position Overview As a Software Engineer in the Corporate Functions Technology team, you will partner with product owners, tech leads, designers, engineers, and delivery professionals to improve our Enterprise Governance, Risk & Compliance solutions . You will code, test, and debug new and existing applications as you implement capabilities to solve sophisticated business problems, deploy innovative products, services, and experiences to delight our customers! In addition to an applied technical understanding and knowledge, you will bring excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, along with agile ways of working and a continuous learning focus. Location: Newark, NJ hybrid (minimum 2 days/week in office) Responsibilities Build applications ensuring that the code follows latest coding practices and industry standards, using modern design patterns and architectural principles. Develop high quality, well documented, and efficient code adhering to all applicable Prudential standards. Collaborate with product owners in understanding needs and defining feature stories, tech leads in defining technical design, and other team members to deliver robust solutions. Write unit, integration tests, and functional automation, researching problems discovered by quality assurance or product support. Identify opportunities to provide feedback to the team, and embed learning and innovation in day-to-day activities. Work on problems of diverse scope in which analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Skills & Expertise Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering or experience in related fields. Experience with databases (SQL) and web technologies (HTML, CSS). Building Web Applications with React. Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Cognos is a plus. Familiarity with IBM OpenPages and its functionalities is a plus. Aptitude to learn AI model deployment, cloud skills, NLP, and machine learning foundations. Understanding of Microservices Architecture and distributed systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
