Essential Duties/Responsibilities * Assists in the installation of new equipment. * Works with the Plant Manager and/or other personnel on special fabrication and construction projects. * Follows preventative maintenance schedule. * Troubleshoots and repairs process machinery and hydraulic equipment. * Changes electrical breakers and electrical starters; operates voltage, amp, and ohm meters. * Cleaning and painting of process equipment and facility to maintain plant appearance. * Facility maintenance * Maintains clean, neat and orderly work area at all times. * Responsible for using assigned safety equipment including a hard hat, safety glasses or goggles, welding protection, and a safety harness; responsible for being familiar with and observing all Company safety rules and regulations. * Attends regularly scheduled safety meetings and may be asked to serve on Safety Committee. * All other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications * High School Diploma or GED. * Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing or feed mill maintenance. * Basic welding, piping and fabrication skills a must. Preferred Qualifications * Vocational school training preferred. * Basic knowledge of general maintenance and equipment operations. * General mechanical aptitude; able to diagnosis problems with motors and other equipment. * Good math skills; add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. * Demonstrated advanced cutting & welding skills. Physical Demands * Frequently required to push, pull, move or lift up to 49 lbs. * Frequently required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch. * Regularly required to reach with hands and arms. * May need to work nights and weekends; available "on call" as needed. WORK SCHEDULE This full-time maintenance job is available for all three shifts (6AM to 2:30PM, 2PM to 10:30PM & 10PM to 6:30AM). You would typically work 5-6 days a week.
