Job DescriptionJob Title: Production Supervisor (First & Second Shift)Location: New HampshireReports To: Plant Manager Job Summary:A well-established company is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Production Supervisor to oversee the tasks and work of the bridge fabrication staff. The Production Supervisor will ensure that production objectives are met and will be responsible for aligning production efforts with the company's corporate mission, values, and financial goals. This position requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of steel fabrication, and the ability to handle production challenges in a fast-paced environment. Essential Functions: Present production schedules, reports, and productivity data to plant leadership. Evaluate and analyze current production estimates and outputs. Identify variances between productivity levels and production goals, making adjustments as needed. Identify labor issues and production problems, propose solutions, and work with management to develop corrective action plans. Oversee daily production operations, anticipate challenges such as material shortages, equipment malfunctions, or rush orders, and minimize work disruptions. Optimize the use of skills, work hours, materials, and workflow to achieve production and quality objectives. Coordinate with other supervisors to ensure smooth interdepartmental product flow and workforce needs. Provide guidance and leadership to a team of fitters, welders, CNC operators, and other employees to meet safety, quality, and production goals. Participate in the hiring and selection process, appraise employee performance, and recommend promotions, transfers, and assignments. Ensure employees are aware of company rules and production expectations. Stay informed about industry trends, training opportunities, and new developments through vendors, publications, and management training. Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager. Qualifications: Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or related experience in steel fabrication and construction. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and fabrication practices. Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address production or productivity issues. Effective time management and clear communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best course of action. Experience scheduling events, programs, and activities, as well as managing the work of others. Proficiency with computer tools such as Google Workspace and Microsoft Office. Preferred Skills & Experience: Previous experience in a steel fabrication environment is highly preferred. Knowledge of bridge fabrication processes and industry standards is a plus. Work Environment: Manufacturing plant with exposure to loud machinery, welding equipment, and varying temperatures. Protective gear and safety protocols must be adhered to at all times.
