BITCO Corporation, headquartered in Davenport, Iowa, is seeking a Supervisor, Applications Programming to join our Applications Programming team. With 11 branch offices in 10 states, BITCO provides quality insurance services to special industries including Construction, Forest Products, and Oil & Gas. Position Summary:This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations within the Applications Programming team, including but not limited to work intake, designing and development of specifications for new systems and modifications to existing systems and mentoring developers. Primary Responsibilities: Directs and supervises the work of developers that are directly reporting to you, including the quality, quantity, and timeliness of work to meet goals and milestonesAssist the developers in the design, creation, and installation of enhancements and upgrades to applications software or other programsProvides clear verbal and written communication to IT management regarding team assignments and ongoing projectsIn addition to supervision responsibilities, also responsible for developing applications, performing analysis, and contributing to the success of the departmental objectives.Participates in the determination of the feasibility of automation for proposed projectsIn conjunction with Manager, maintains current company and department procedures. Assigns work, provides training and feedback to team members, and conducts timely and appropriate evaluations of job performance in the department As a management representative, consistently acts in the best interest of BITCO and provides leadership and communication to actively promote BITCO's mission, values, and culture Performs other duties as assignedQualifications: Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience. Degrees in computer science, information systems, or business administration with technology as a core component preferredMinimum 5 years of relevant IT work experience and a minimum of 2 years of experience managing and/or directing an Application development teamHighly proficient in maintaining and writing code with the current technologies related to the discipline you are supervisingStrong understanding and technical knowledge of project life-cyclesEffectively able to prioritize multiple workloads while maintaining a sense of urgencyAbility to communicate and work effectively with internal and external customersMust be able to provide rotating on-call support of production systemsStrong problem solving and analytical abilityExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to appropriately handle sensitive data and maintain confidentiality
