The position will be based at our Sumter, SC facility. This position will support our Switchboard Assembly (1st Shift).The expected annual salary range for this role is $83250.0 - $122100.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you'll do:In the Production Supervisor role, you will manage and direct the Switchboard assembly operations to produce and ship product, at minimum cost, in accordance with engineering design specifications, quality standards, customer service goals, and profitability. You will effectively communicate and work with all levels of plant personnel to complete your job function and meet safety, quality and productivity goals.Essential Functions:• You will contribute to a safe, engaged and inclusive work culture by ensuring you and your team comply with all policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties. • You will ensure that production demands are met by your department and that team leaders understand their roles in the upkeep of order fulfillment.• You will serve as a central point of contact for management in regard to production issues in one's functional area.• You will participate in the assessment, selection, training, coaching, and development of employees and foster strong employee performance.• You will foster positive employee relations with direct reports and key stakeholders & a high-performing work team culture throughout the facility.• You will work directly with production team members to provide direction on daily tasks and resolution of issues.• You will evaluate workload requirements and effectively delegate tasks accordingly to ensure proper and adequate manning to support production requirements.• You will manage employees, time records, monitor productivity and work performance within the team.• You will investigate and solve quality issues and/or serve as a point of contact through which quality issues can be resolved. Ensures that employees know the importance of quality and enforces follow through. Works with quality control team to resolve issues and regularly reviews quality trends in the market.Additional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesQualifications:Basic Qualifications:• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution OR High school diploma with minimum 3 years of experience supporting Manufacturing, Operations or Technical processes• Minimum 1 year of leadership experience managing people or project teams• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.Preferred Qualifications:• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution • Three years of leadership experience• Lean manufacturing / Operational Excellence skills in 5S+, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Visual Management, etc.Skills:Position Criteria:• Demonstrated effective communication and leadership skills • Process focused • Problem solving skills (e.g. 8-D or A3)• Intrinsically motivated, champion of change, visionary • Life-long learner; promotes a learning culturePhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands to handle and feel. The employee is frequently required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds and to push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds with or without accommodation. The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination.
