Contribute to the communities where we reside. What's new with Aptar We have an exciting position open for a Manager, Applications Test Lab. The Applications Test Lab is the hub for elastomeric flow control (EFC) development testing for both internal and external customers. This role is responsible for supervising lab personnel, coordinating daily work, and ensuring results are accurately and consistently communicated to requestors and customers. It is the department's technical lead for test protocol design and implementation. This role is responsible for the calibration and maintenance of existing test equipment, as well as the selection of new test equipment to meet the needs of the department and customers. This role is also the technical support representative in test project planning and customer meetings. The primary focus of this role is the direct support of the EFC Development and Deployment Center and Aptar Sales groups. This is how your journey begins: Effectively supervise and positively motivate direct reports through appropriate leadership and effective communication. Encourage individual growth, creativity, productivity, and job satisfaction by gaining knowledge about individuals' strengths, motivators, and training needs. Train and coach department personnel (and others as needed) on testing and related activities. Provide timely resolution to resourcing issues, including prioritization of activities and resource constraints. As required, train and coach representatives from other Aptar sites to harmonize global valve testing standards. Assist in the development, documentation, implementation, and training of new test methods/procedures to expand capability and meet customers' needs. When needed, perform testing, analysis, and reporting in support of the above-mentioned activity. Coordinating the creation, modification and/or maintenance of test stands and equipment. Provide technical support to other departments as necessary and requested. Provide technical customer/requestor support through presentations, conference calls, on-site support, meetings, etc. Participate in strategic planning and execution activities for dept. such as objective planning, budget planning, capital for technology advancements, etc. Assist with Gage R&R, DOE, and other studies as needed. This includes setup of test equipment, preparation and collection of data, data manipulation (graphs/calculations) and results reporting. Investigation and selection of new lab test equipment to meet the needs of the department and customers. Ensure lab works according to appropriate ISO standards in all cases. Ensure all forms of communication from test lab (calls, emails, messages, reports, pictures, and videos) are professional and to a common, high-quality standard. Support efforts related to competitor benchmarking. Other technical support duties as assigned, such as coordinating/scheduling daily test activities, site regulatory support, maintenance of ASTM standards library, etc. What you will bring on the journey EDUCATION Minimum of 2-year Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or other technical field; Bachelor's degree in technical field preferred. EXPERIENCE / ABILITIES Minimum 2 years of proven supervisory experience. Experience with test equipment (including setup, use, calibration, maintenance, etc.). Experience with photography, videography, and photo/video editing software preferred. Experience coordinating with external vendors preferred. Experience developing and adhering to department budgets. SKILLS Ability to work well with others and effectively lead diverse teams to accomplish goals. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams). Creativity is essential for new test development, results reporting, and investigations. Strong mechanical knowledge will be necessary to understand the physical interactions of the items being tested. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present technical information to varied audiences. Strong problem-solving abilities. Self-starter with strong prioritization, multi-tasking, and organizational skills. Proficient with basic statistical analysis.
