MVOs are responsible for the safe, on-time delivery of patient meals ordered. MVOs are responsible for loading and unloading their trucks as business necessitates.MVOs are responsible for the overall cleanliness of the truck and truck cab. MVOs are responsible to ensure that the carts, food and product they deliver are kept at proper temperature throughout the trip routes; to unload the carts at the designated customer location, assuring that the receiver storage area is at the proper temperature; and to place the carts and other food and materials ordered into a designated refrigerated storage box at the customer site. Customer will ensure that the MVOs have access and entry at the designated time of delivery. MVOs are also responsible to pick-up, load, and bring back empty carts, clean lug buckets etc. at each hospital where a delivery is made.General tasks and responsibilities will include:Check MVOs Driver delivery sheets daily.Ensure that all food carts and case items are loaded, delivered, and stored in hospital refrigerators and freezers designated by the customer.Ensure proper temperatures are recorded in truck and at hospital/customer storage areas per MVO Driver's Temperature Check Procedure in Truck Driver's Manual.Contact Sodexo/Culinary Center Management if customer storage box is not at the proper temperatures or if storage at proper temperatures cannot be provided.In the event of a truck breakdown, notify all hospitals on route of delay and follow Truck Breakdown Procedure in MVOs Driver's Manual. A written report must be completed and left for the production manager prior to the end of shift.Ensure that all equipment, carts, lug buckets, equipment etc. are retrieved from the hospital and returned to the commissary in a safe manner.Secure the truck and place keys and radio/cell phone in the designated area at the end of each delivery run/shift. Drivers are responsible for safeguarding company issued radio/cell phones.Follow all Sodexo guidelines with regards to safe food handling and customer service.Report all accidents, incidents, customer service issues and unusual occurrences to Sodexo/Culinary Center Management.DOT checklist must be completed at the start of every shift along with a vehicle damage report at beginning and end of shift.Ensure all Sodexo and NYC H + H policies and procedures are adhered to.Other jobs related. *This is a part time, 22.5 hours per week position.Minimum QualificationsThere are no formal education or experience requirements. However, there are certain physical requirements. License Requirements: 1. Candidates must possess a Motor Vehicle Driver's License valid in the State of New York and either 2 or 3 below.2. For appointment in certain agencies, possession of either a Class 1 or a Class 2 or a Class 3 Motor Vehicles Driver's License, or a combination of these licenses, may be required at the time of appointment.3. For other agencies which do not require the licenses in 2 above at the time of appointment, possession of either a Class 3 Learner's Permit or a Class 3 Driver's License is required at the time of appointment.
