The Opportunity That Awaits You: We are seeking a skilled R&D Technician Supervisor with a specialization in electro-mechanical assemblies, in the medical device industry, to join our dynamic team. We value hands-on experience, practical skills, and a passion for innovation in healthcare technology. As a R&D Technician Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in the development, testing, and optimization of medical device robotics, contributing to advancements that improve patient care and medical procedures. This is a full-time on-site position and will require reporting to our offices located in San Jose, CA. What Your Day-To-Day Will Involve: * Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technicians to ensure high performance and continuous growth. * Responsible for all R&D labs. Maintain calibration of all test equipment and fixtures. * Allocate resources effectively, manage schedules, and provide training to improve team proficiency. * Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance individual and team performance. * Provide technical assistance and resolution with engineering problems that are encountered during sub-system and system level testing. * Assemble electro-mechanical systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of engineering principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments. * Modify prototypes, parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deviations. * Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, and record results. * Execute engineering level tests and collect data to support design of experiment activities or characterize a device. * Collaborate with engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems. * Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair instruments or testing equipment. * Analyze and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems. * Provide feedback to improve design and manufacturing processes * Set-up and operate manufacturing and testing equipment * Conduct tests, protocols, and collect data * Maintain trained status for, and comply with, all relevant aspects of the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality Management System to ensure product and support regulatory compliance * Understand and adhere to the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality Policy * Understand and adhere to the PROCEPT BioRobotics EHS Policy The Qualifications We Need You to Possess * Associate degree or higher in technical field (mechanical, system or electrical engineering). * Minimum of 10 years of working experience testing and troubleshooting medical capital equipment systems and/or medical electro-mechanical products including robotic systems. * Experience managing and mentoring technicians and leading teams. * Ability to perform failure analysis and troubleshooting with minimal supervision. * Effectively use of troubleshooting and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, and custom test platforms. * Understand wiring diagrams, schematics, assembly drawings, fab drawings, and mechanical component drawings. * Exceptional analytic and problem-solving skills. * Working knowledge of computers, word processing and spreadsheet applications for documentation and data presentation. * Ability to learn quickly and adjust to variety of technologies that allow effective troubleshooting. * Effective communication skills to be able to partner effectively with production technicians, supervisors, trainers, and engineers. * Sense of urgency and multi-tasking is essential to be able to help production line effectively. The Qualifications We Would Like You to Possess * Bachelor's degree in engineering field, preferably mechanical or electrical engineering. * 15 years or more of direct hands-on experience in medical device industry working on electro-mechanicals assemblies that included hand held devices and capital equipment. * Solidworks PDM, CAD modeling and drawing experience. * Experience working on ECO's and releasing documentation using a PLM system. * Local travel to vendor or supplier sites * On-site, full-time role. For US-Based Candidates Only Work Authorization Status: Citizen / Permanent Resident For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $130,000-135,000 per year. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Procept utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above. WORK ENVIRONMENT We'll provide you training for, and ask you to maintain trained status for, and comply with, all relevant aspects of the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality Management System to ensure product and support regulatory compliance.
