Senior Mainframe Developer

GovCIO Senior Mainframe Developer - Providence, Rhode Island GovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior Mainframe Developer to perform maintenance, remediation, and updates to mission-critical applications used to support the DCSA background investigation processes. Provide architecture, development, and cybersecurity support for the High Value Assets (HVAs) that make up the background investigation system. This position will be located in the Washington DC Metro area (DC / MD / VA) and will be a hybrid position, primarily remote with a periodic need for customer site visits. Responsibilities Support the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA), Background Information Systems (BIS), Case Processing, and other background investigation systems. Support requirements elicitation, analysis, development, testing, and application-level operational support for mission-critical applications providing background investigation processing. Serve as a member of the development team working on operational and maintenance (O&M) and enhancement initiatives. Interact and coordinate with infrastructure, networking, security, and other support entities. Use ServiceNow as the primary workflow management tool. Interact with customers and stakeholders to understand user requirements. Use Atlassian tools including JIRA for requirements tracking. Design solutions that efficiently and effectively meet customer requirements. Develop software using Natural with ADABAS. Develop and maintain software processes to transfer files using Connect Direct software. Develop and maintain JCL for batch processing. Develop and maintain queues and flows using IBM MQ. Anticipate customers' and project needs and proactively identify potential solutions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience (or commensurate experience). US Citizenship and ability to hold a TS Security Clearance. 15+ years of experience on large-scale applications on a mainframe platform developing in both Batch and Online environments. Expert proficiency programming in Natural using ADABAS. Experienced in developing using Software AG's NaturalONE Eclipse-based development environment. 5+ years' experience working with customers on defining requirements. Strong ability to design solutions across multiple systems or sub-systems. Demonstrated experience interacting with software application program development and management personnel. Proficient in O365 components including Word, Excel, etc. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Skills and Experience Active Security Clearance of Top-Secret level or higher. Strong working knowledge using IBM's Connect:Direct for file transfers. Experience with using IBM MQ. Familiarity with Confluence and Jira. Working knowledge of ServiceNow.
