Director of Grants and Budgets - Finance Work Location: Downtown/Fulton Mall Brooklyn Hours: Full Time - 35 hours per week; Hybrid schedule available Salary Range: $110,000 - $145,000 Position Summary: The Director of Grants and Budgets oversees and manages the administration of all agency government and foundation grants serving as the primary liaison with funding agencies regarding fiscal matters; assisting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the preparation of annual budgets and oversight of budgeting and the contract vouchering processes. The Director reports to the CFO and works closely with the Executive Director, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Program Officer (CPO). Key Responsibilities: Partner with the CFO and finance team members in the preparation of the agency's annual budget and control of budgets throughout the year. Report monthly to department leaders on budget activity and propose modifications. Track and monitor grant compliance and partner with grants management staff to ensure compliance with grant guidelines. Ensure timely contract close-out, extension or renewal, and monitor transaction compliance (milestones, deliverables, invoicing, etc.). Internal coordination of programmatic and financial audit preparation. Coordination with auditors and funders for audits. Serve as point of contact with funders on contract compliance and monitoring. Oversee grants process from application to close including amendments and modifications. Manage submissions, uploads, amendments to government grantors in all grant and contract portal systems. Ensure compliance with procurement and governance rules, New York City Charter and other regulations. Participate in planning of procurements and developing strategies for timely processing. Perform other duties assigned by CFO. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field with five years' experience or a satisfactory combination of education and experience in non-profit accounting. Experience in grants management with a multi-funder organization. Demonstrated understanding of funder compliance. 5-7 years of experience in a non-profit contract management role. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Strong computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets. Good verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated focus on attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and tact. Financial analysis skills preferred. Experience with non-profit accounting systems preferred. Experience working with New York City and New York State agencies preferred. BCS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
