Job Description: Position: Supervisor of Information Technology & PowerSchool/Database Manager Reports To: Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Compensation: $75,000 - $100,000 (based on experience and qualifications) Duties of the position include the following: * Administer and improve the PowerSchool database * Oversee and complete state reporting including, but not limited to: PSIS, ED166, CRDC, Attendance, etc.; * Provide support to students and parents who reach out via the IT support email address; * Provide support for all cloud-based initiatives; * Work in partnership with the Network Administrator and IT Team on the district's cybersecurity response plan; * Manage the PowerSchool server environment including updates and OS/hardware upgrades; * Provide oversight of all computers (mobile and fixed), classroom support systems, and network hardware including all subsystems (cameras, door access, smart boards, phones, copier management, etc.); * Propose and manage department budgets including the purchasing of all computer and computer related hardware district wide; * Manage the districts eRate funding; * Provide oversight of firewall and intrusion detection systems; * Provide oversight of repairs and maintenance of hardware and technology related systems; * Manage the shared responsibility of district website vision and active social media accounts; * Plan and oversee implementation of technology related projects including 1:1 Chromebooks, hardware refurbishment, data privacy requirements, etc.; * Manage confidential information/material in accordance with Board of Education Policy, confidentiality standards and the code of ethical behavior; * Collaborate with building principals and teacher leaders to assess building/district technology priorities and develop plan for improvement; * Provide ongoing support of technology integration in the content areas; * Collaborate with other district specialists, CSDE representatives, and state experts on best practices and state initiatives; * Develop and implement technology support services in a manner consistent with Board of Education policy; * Provide in-service instruction for staff, parents, administrators and board members; * Gather and analyze K-12 data to share with principals, teachers and the Board of Education; * Gather and evaluate programmatic, school and district data; * Apply for and manage technology based grants; * Provide supportive feedback to staff through the district's evaluation and supervision process though regular technology team meetings; Qualifications: * Possess a bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of experience in the information technology field; * Prior experience supporting, implementing and administering PowerSchool; * Exceptional quantitative skills; * Ability to provide leadership and contribute to a high performing team of administrators, teachers, school staff and supportive community with emphasis on quality, continuous improvement, and high performance; * Experience and expertise in day-to-day school & district operations; * Strong vision and focus for the use of technology in a public school organization; * Demonstrated ability to think and act innovatively; * Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills to lead staff, teachers, parents and member of the school community; * Knowledge of best practices in database management, networks and network infrastructure, and project management; * Ability to read, interpret and summarize reports; * Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; * Ability to speak effectively before administrators, staff, parents and students; * Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; * Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; * Ability to apply knowledge of current technology research and theory; * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community; * Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies; * Ability to influence others to explore new and novel solutions/approaches; * Ability to meet deadlines with severe time constraints.
