RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Coding Supervisor to join our team. As a Coding Supervisor, you will work directly with the RCM Coding and Compliance Manager and RCM Coding Process and Compliance Director to ensure all coding KPI's meet or exceed targets. Ensures that patient accounts are accurately coded and in compliance with ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS, modifier and unit coding guidelines. Provides daily workflow directions for coding operations; assists with providing tools and education to the coding team members to ensure best practice standards.This position is 100% remote full-time, Monday thru Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:(35%) Staff Supervision and TrainingOversees personal management of the supervisor's direct reports including employment decisions, counseling, personnel actions, workflow distribution and productivity, career development and performance appraisalsAdvises coding team members on best practices, methodology and tools for accurate codingParticipates in a minimum of monthly 1:1 meeting with direct report coding team members; weekly as indicated by performance or as indicated/neededAssists with preparation of weekly coding departmental meetings, agenda and meeting minutesAssists with job responsibilities and sets priorities for coding team membersOversees and ensures outstanding provider/market inquiries through interaction with coders and operational market leaders are addressed(30%) Charge & Coding and RCM Operations SupportEnforces department policies, practices, procedures and work rules in accordance with approved departmental policies and assists in the development and implementation of new policiesParticipates routinely in performance meetings with the computerized-assisted coding (CAC) vendor and places support tickets, as neededAssists team with CPT/HCPCS for price estimation for services being provided to patients when requestedResponsible for the monitoring of monthly and completion of performance metric reports which would include charge accrual reports and monthly health reports from the CAC vendorEnsures that charges are accurately posted to patient accounts in a timely mannerAssists with internal & external questions regarding billing and/or coding practices and collaborates with other RCM leadership on best practicesReviews and verifies that all billing system processes and tasks are completed timely and clean for end of month reportingKeeps abreast of coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements by monitoring industry publications and implements changes as necessary. Provides assistance with research and coordination with coding consultants, as neededMonitors and controls departmental expenditures(30%) Coding Compliance Quality AssuranceWorks directly with the Coding Specialist III assigned to ensure that monthly QA is performed, results are compiled and any residual account corrections and education is completed and documentedReviews coder productivity scorecards and produces PIP/action plans for under-performing coders on at least a monthly basisInvolved in the process for any government or other payer audits(5%) Completes other tasks and projects as assignedRequired:High school diploma or equivalentBachelor's degree in health information or other related field or equivalent experienceSuccessful completion of a coding certificate program such as CCS, CCS-P, CPC or RCCMinimum 3-5 years' experience coding and/or auditing3+ years coding leadership experience in health care setting; radiology preferredThorough/detailed knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelinesSkilled in performing quality assessment/analysisExcellent verbal & written communication and interpersonal skillsProficient computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite and medical billing systemsBe at work on time and as scheduledKnowledge of and adherence to company policies and protocolsKnowledge of basic level computer skillsRAYUS is committed to delivering clinical excellence in communities across the U.S., driven by our passion for and superior service to referring providers and patients.
