They serve the poor, the forgotten and the marginalized alongside people of goodwill located across the United States, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Alaska, and Jamaica."¯ Founded in October 2023, the Province of Our Lady of Guadalupe was formed from friars coming together from six legacy provinces, which are part of the long history of the Order of Friars Minor in the United States. Combining their gifts has allowed them to renew their Franciscan witness to American society and begin an exciting new chapter of their history in the United States. A bit about the role: Reporting to the team leader of Aging, Health and Wellness and the local Friar leader of St. John The Baptist Friary, you will be providing care for approximately 12 retired Franciscan friars ensuring their well-being, comfort, and healthcare needs are met with compassion and dedication. In this crucial role, you will play an integral part in creating a supportive and nurturing environment for the friars, promoting their quality of life and upholding the values of St. Francis of Assisi within the healthcare setting. Weekly schedule 7am - 12:30pm, Monday - Friday. Part time employees supporting Province of Our Lady of Guadalupe enjoy a benefits package including sick paid time off, and life & disability insurance Key Responsibilities: Responsible for Providing Basic Nursing Care: Offer direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility. Responsible for Vital Sign Monitoring: Conduct regular monitoring of vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate, promptly reporting any abnormalities. Responsible for Maintaining a Clean and Safe Environment: Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the patient's living space, promoting infection control measures and preventing hazards. Responsible for Assisting with Nutrition and Hydration: Assist residents with meals, providing support for proper nutrition and hydration, and monitoring dietary preferences and restrictions. Responsible for Observing and Reporting Changes in Condition: Regularly observe residents for changes in physical or emotional well-being, promptly reporting any concerns to the nursing team. Responsible for Documenting Care: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care activities, including ADL assistance, vital signs, and any notable observations. Responsible for Collaborating with Healthcare Team: Work collaboratively with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for residents. About you: Holds a valid CNA certification in the state of Ohio, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining professional standards and compliance with regulatory requirements. Sensitive and collaborative work style with exceptional verbal and written communication style. At least 1-2 years of experience specifically in geriatrics. Exhibits a genuine passion for patient care, showing empathy, and fostering a compassionate environment that promotes the well-being and dignity of each resident. Focus on patient-centered care and uses collaborative approach with patients. Demonstrates proficiency in providing basic nursing care, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), vital sign monitoring, and maintaining a clean and safe patient environment. Exhibits a strong work ethic, reliability, and dependability in fulfilling assigned duties, contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
