The Security Engineer 3 is a key member of the TDECU Information Security Operations team. In this role, you will serve as a cybersecurity expert with a focus on securing services and improving cloud-based detection and response technologies. You will be planning, designing, developing, and implementing cybersecurity best practices for all on-premises and cloud-based technologies. You will be the technical lead for installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all information security toolsets. In this role, you will work closely with the information security team, other IT teams, and technology vendors to implement and maintain a high-performing security operations program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Implement, maintain, and improve new and existing security technologies Identify capability gaps and help identify the strategy and roadmap for the team Investigate, resolve, and perform follow-up tasks on endpoint, server, and cloud infrastructure Perform advanced threat hunting using various security tools and techniques Identify current and emerging technology issues including security trends, vulnerabilities, and threats. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and work experience Licensure / Certifications: CISSP required, Azure, SANS, CCSK, CCSP or equivalent certifications preferred Experience: 10 or more years of technical work experience required, including 7+ years in information security Experience in at least one of the following job roles: incident response, intrusion detection, penetration testing, application security, or vulnerability management 1 or more years of experience in cloud security engineering Ability to exercise independent judgment in driving technical problems to resolution Experience with NIST security standards Extensive experience in information security and/or IT risk management with a focus on security, performance, and reliability Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Build effective working relationships and work with a diverse group of people. Interact professionally and interpersonally with other people providing guidance as necessary Prioritize and complete daily work routines while adhering to TDECU specific Project Management standards Participate in planning, budgeting and implementation of security strategies Physical Demands and Work Environment: (The physical demands and work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of this position and/or may be encountered while performing essential functions.
