Job Title: Senior Project Manager (IT Purchasing Manager) Location: Irvine, CA OR Palo Alto, CA (Hybrid) Client: Rivian Contract: 06 months Job Description: The Client Indirect Procurement team is looking for a highly motivated, independent, and exceptional IT Purchasing professional to bring Client's products to life. In this role, the IT Purchasing Manager will be responsible for sourcing and managing Software, Hardware, and Telecom related suppliers. You will be responsible for all commercial aspects of awarding new business, negotiating software licensing agreements, developing strong supplier relationships, and working side by side with our Enterprise Technology stakeholders to push the envelope of our technical requirements. You will also lead in ensuring Client can meet its cost targets and suppliers deliver to our aggressive timelines. Software and IT hardware must be delivered in accordance with the business requirements. We expect our people to own every aspect of the sourcing process from start to finish. Core Responsibilities: Deliverables include Strategic Sourcing (7-Step), Negotiations, Contract Management, Project Management, Stakeholder Management. Day in the Life: The IT Purchasing Manager will focus on contract renewals, amendments, and new purchases within the IT spend category. Minimum Requirements: 5-10 years of experience within Indirect Procurement. Previous experience managing large, complex IT sourcing projects throughout the Source-to-Pay (S2P) lifecycle. Ability to execute strategic sourcing (7-step) projects autonomously with little direction or oversight. Bachelor's degree and 5-10 years of experience within Procurement. Must have prior experience within IT. Qualifications: Demonstrated expertise across IT Spend categories including Software (on-prem & SaaS), Hardware, and Telecom. Previous experience in Professional Service is a plus. Expertise in negotiating software licensing agreements (on-prem & SaaS) in accordance with industry standards and Client guidelines, with minimal support from the legal team. Work closely alongside Stakeholders to meet their technical requirements, execute against set milestones, and track sourcing progress. Deep understanding of the strategic sourcing (7-step) process and end-to-end Sourcing-to-Pay (S2P) best practices. Ability to operate autonomously to support business stakeholders with new purchases, renewals, and amendments against aggressive timelines. Ability to support the business with year-end renewal management while achieving cost savings. Perform detailed analysis of quotations based on cost breakdowns from supplier submissions. Proven experience in leading sourcing projects, developing and implementing sourcing strategies, managing RFP processes, and presenting recommendations to senior leadership for approval. Additional Requirements: Bachelor's degree (MBA in Supply Chain Management preferred). 5-10 years of relevant Information Technology (IT) related Purchasing Experience (hardware, software, telecom, etc.). 5-10 years of experience performing strategic sourcing, cost analysis, negotiations, and contract negotiations in a procurement environment. Previous ERP systems and purchase order processing experience - Coupa preferred. Previous Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system experience - Ironclad preferred. Able to work independently with little instruction and adapt to change. Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to details and deadlines. Able to work well with others in a team environment. Effective communication skills and customer service approach. Action-oriented and solution-driven, able to work in a fast-paced environment.
